Frosted PVC Curtain

The Problem

Yorkshire Roller Shutters asked us to supply a PVC curtain for their customer in Leeds. The customer needed PVC strip curtains that not only had the benefits of a regular curtain, such as temperature control and enabling light transmission, but that would also help them to conceal the goods stored within their warehouse.

After discussing several options with them, the customer decided that their new curtain would be best to be produced from ‘frosted’ grade PVC. This would still provide the easy access of a regular PVC strip curtain, but would also allow for more privacy.

It was also essential for the customer that their new curtain could be easily slid out of the way so that forklifts and pallets could be driven through.

The Solution

We decided that the best option for this working environment was a 4 piece bi-parting system, where the two end quarters would be fixed, while a sliding track could move the middle section of strips out of the way when needed.

The curtains were made to measure using precise measurements that were supplied by Yorkshire Rolling Shutters. This allowed us to calculate the perfect amount of PVC strip that would be needed to ensure a partial overlap.

The strips, sliding gear and heavy duty track were all cut to size and dispatched within just 3 working days for Yorkshire Rolling Shutters to install themselves. The curtains began paying for themselves almost immediately, serving not just as a safety feature, but also insulating the warehouse, reducing the amount of chilled air and saving the warehouse money in energy bills.
